  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup (4oz, 120ml) rooster broth
  • 1 tbs cornstarch (maizena, corn flour)
  • 1 tbs sesame seeds
  • 2/3 cup (2.5 oz., 75gr) quick-cooking barley
  • 1 1/3 cups (11oz, 330ml) rooster broth
  • Prepare dinner barley in broth till performed, stirring once in a while.
  • If all broth isn’t absorbed, drain.
  • The prep:
  • In a small bowl combine sherry, soy sauce, vinegar, mustard, and sugar.
  • Upload rooster to the bowl with the sauce, stir to coat.
  • Prep the greens.
  • To prepare dinner:
  • In a big skillet or wok warmth part of each oils over medium-high warmth.
  • Upload celery, onion, and stir fry 3 mins.
  • Upload garlic, ginger, broccoli and stir-fry 2 mins longer.
  • Switch greens to a plate.
  • Upload the remainder of the oils to the skillet.
  • Take away rooster from sauce, booking sauce, and stir fry 3 mins.
  • Go back the greens to the pan and upload the reserved sauce and warmth to simmering.
  • Quilt and simmer for three – 5 mins longer, till the broccoli is simply delicate.
  • Give the cornstarch/water a stir to recombine and upload it to the pan, stirring continuously till thickened.
  • Stir in sesame seeds.
  • Serve over barley.

Should you don’t have quick-cooking barley, use common barley or rice.
