Just about each iciness because the past due 1990’s when Invoice Hintze(*) first reported them, you’ll most often discover a merlin or two at Schenley Park golfing route at nightfall. Charity Kheshgi and I went taking a look on 12 December and proper on time a big merlin, most certainly feminine, arrived 20 mins ahead of sundown.
The temperature was once rather heat but it surely was once very windy and felt rather chilly. The merlin didn’t care. Because the solar set she flew to the highest of a pine tree around the street. (She’s on this picture as a dot.)

Curiously she didn’t roost on the golfing route. When it were given darker she flew away to the south-southeast.
For those who’d like to look a merlin, prevent via the golfing route about 40 mins ahead of sundown and stroll round taking a look on the treetops. Parking is to be had on the First Tee parking zone.
