That is the primary build up in stock since November 2020. Then again, in comparison to November 2022, the herd used to be down rather via 0.7% or 150,600 head, and in comparison to November 2021 it used to be down 10.7% or 2.5 million head.

In a ten-year comparative, the downward development within the collection of pigs and farms is even clearer: the collection of pigs has fallen via 24.6% or 6.9 million head since 2013, whilst the collection of farms has dropped via up to 42.1% (-11,800 farms). Thus, the fashion against better pig farms continues, with the typical in 2013 being 1,000 head in step with farm and ten years later 1,300 head in step with farm.
