4 days this week had been unseasonably heat with highs 18 to twenty+ levels above commonplace. The vegetation and birds replied.
On Tuesday, Charity Kheshgi and I heard a fox sparrow at Frick Park however he was once elusive. We spent a very long time seeking to get a just right glance him till a blue jay’s bizarre name made us pause. So did the fox sparrow, as proven above in Charity’s picture.
On Wednesday there have been few birds at Toms Run Nature Reserve however we noticed red useless nettle (Lamium purpureum) in bloom.

On Thursday 14 March I used to be stunned on the loss of birds at Raccoon Creek Wildflower Reserve, however the vegetation at the Jennings Path cliff face (bordering the creek) had been responding to the warmth. It’s now not Complete Blown Spring but however I discovered:
