A person is accused of killing a dingo with a speargun at a well-liked Queensland vacation spot.
Natural world officials stated the person had used the speargun after the dingo lingered round a camp website at night time on Ok’gari, previously referred to as Fraser Island.
Queensland’s Division of Atmosphere, Science and Innovation stated the killing had came about on 19 April however they weren’t alerted till day after today.
“The person urged the Division of Atmosphere, Science and Innovation concerning the dingo’s demise the next day and has totally cooperated with division officers,” a DESI observation stated on Monday.
It’s an offence to intentionally hurt, intervene or have interaction with dingoes.
It’s the eleventh dingo come upon reported in a question of months on Ok’gari.
The most recent came about on 23 April when a 10-year-old boy was once bitten at the leg at Awinya Creek at the western aspect of the island. At one level there have been six stories in as many weeks.
