DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa and the USDA showed a case of extremely pathogenic avian influenza in a dairy farm animals herd in O’Brien County, Iowa, on June 5. This makes Iowa the 10th state to file circumstances of the virus in farm animals since this outbreak started previous within the spring, and the primary new state since April.
That is the state’s first reported case of HPAI inside a dairy herd, on the other hand on June 2 a case used to be reported on a business turkey flock in Cherokee County, Iowa, the Iowa Division of Agriculture and Land Stewardship notes.
