Suspensions are because of the presence of avian influenza

Hong Kong’s Centre for Meals Protection (CFS) of the Meals and Environmental Hygiene Division introduced previous this week the suspension of poultry imports from areas in France, Poland and america. CFS cited the presence of avian influenza and protective human well being as the explanations at the back of the suspensions.
The suspensions are in reaction to notifications from the Global Organisation for Animal Well being (WOAH) about a virulent disease of extremely pathogenic H5 avian influenza in Morbihan Division in France, and outbreaks of extremely pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in Świebodziński District of Lubuskie Area in Poland and Hillsborough County of the State of Florida in the USA.
A CFS spokesperson mentioned that in step with the Census and Statistics Division, Hong Kong imported about 830 tonnes of chilled and frozen poultry meat and about 110,000 poultry eggs from France, about 1,620 tonnes of frozen poultry meat from Poland, and about 40 950 tonnes of chilled and frozen poultry meat and about 13.86 million poultry eggs from america within the first six months of this 12 months.
“The CFS has contacted the French, Polish and American government over the problems and can carefully track data issued through the WOAH and the related government at the avian influenza outbreaks,” the spokesperson mentioned. “Suitable motion shall be taken in accordance with the advance of the placement.”
