British Columbia has had 104 industrial poultry flocks suffering from extremely pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) for the reason that virus first struck the Canadian province’s poultry trade on April 13, 2022.
4 farms had HPAI seem in industrial poultry flocks in the province on November 10 and two extra farms turned into showed inflamed websites on November 12. Of the six new instances, 4 had been in Chilliwack. Abbotsford and Langley Township every had one farm affected, in line with knowledge from the Canadian Meals Inspection Company (CFIA).
Data relating to flock sizes or the kind of poultry concerned has no longer but been launched by means of CFIA.
To this point, Abbotsford has had 50 flocks suffering from HPAI, whilst Chilliwack and Langley Township have had 36 flocks and 12 flocks affected, respectively.
Whilst CFIA has no longer reported any new instances of HPAI in industrial poultry in different provinces, two new premises in Saskatchewan and one new farm in Alberta have had yard poultry affected since November 9.
