ROSE HILL, N.C. — Area of Raeford Farms declares the retirement of Jim Mabe, advanced supervisor for the corporate’s West Columbia, S.C., operation. Mabe has labored for the corporate since 1998 when Area of Raeford bought Columbia Farms Inc. and Columbia Farms of Georgia, which incorporated West Columbia in addition to the Greenville, S.C., advanced.
As advanced supervisor, Mabe oversaw the processing plant operation in addition to are living manufacturing out of Batesburg-Leesville and Monetta, S.C., together with a hatchery, feed mill and relationships with contract farmers who carry chickens for Area of Raeford. Mabe is a graduate of North Carolina State College with a BS stage in poultry science. He started with Columbia Farms as plant supervisor in 1983, and changed into president and leader working officer in 1991.
Mabe comes from a circle of relatives of poultry executives. His father Donald Mabe Sr. was once a former president and CEO of Perdue Farms and a 1995 inductee into the North Carolina Poultry Corridor of Repute. Jim’s brother, Don Mabe Jr., retired as CEO of American Proteins.
