Annually younger Cooper’s hawks (Accipiter cooperii) fledge in June/July and learn how to hunt in July/August. Once they’re self enough they disperse, after which they begin to migrate.
Cooper’s hawks consume birds for a dwelling in order that they migrate with their prey. Their height migration continues now via mid October on the Allegheny Entrance Hawk Watch.
