Lamb shank parcels


Those lamb shank parcels are ideal for a Christmas dinner. They aren’t best scrumptious however they appear the phase too, says Lorraine Steyl.

Serves 4

  • 2 medium lamb shanks
  • 400g roll of store-bought puff pastry

For the sauce:

  • 2 cups rooster inventory
  • 1 Tbsp contemporary rosemary, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp contemporary thyme, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp contemporary mint, chopped
  • ½ cup contemporary basil, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ cup crimson wine vinegar
  • 5 cloves
  • 3 cloves of beaten garlic
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ cup gentle soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to style
  1. In a sluggish cooker, position the lamb shanks and canopy with all of the elements for the sauce. Prepare dinner on top for 4 to 5 hours or till the beef is comfortable.
  2. Take away the beef from the sauce and make allowance to chill. Put aside the sauce to make use of later.
  3. Reduce the puff pastry in two. Wrap every lamb shank within the pastry.
  4. Bake within the oven at 220°C for 30 to 40 mins till the pastry is golden brown.
  5. Warmth the sauce ahead of serving. Serve the lamb shanks with mashed potatoes and your collection of different greens with the sauce.
