PETA’s 2018 video exposé of the mohair business—which used to be the sector’s first behind-the-scenes glance into it—published egregious abuse in South Africa, the sector’s best mohair manufacturer. After finding out from PETA that mohair is stolen from terrified angora goats—who’re steadily lower open right through shearing, dragged, thrown via the legs and tails, and mutilated prior to being killed—greater than 300 manufacturers world wide banned the fiber. Inditex, Zara, Topshop, Hole, H&M, ASOS, Ralph Lauren, Diane von Furstenberg, Brooks Brothers, Crate & Barrel, Esprit, Without end 21, Categorical, and UNIQLO are simply among the sort firms to take action.
