I used to be starting to suppose we had been secure this 12 months however now I’m no longer so certain. After strangely few noticed lanternflies (Lycorma delicatula) in July and August, there are extra of them within the air and on structures and timber. Uh oh!
Have you ever noticed extra noticed lanternflies, too? I feel I do know why.
- Their height inhabitants used to be in September closing 12 months so we most definitely haven’t reached the height but. Nevertheless it’s coming.
- Noticed lanternflies love warmth and it’s been sizzling this week. The day past’s prime used to be 94°F — 13° above customary.
- Why do I see them fly through my sixth flooring home windows? They love peak as neatly.
Remaining 12 months I mused on their love of peak and warmth. I certain hope it doesn’t get so unhealthy this 12 months!
