Greetings from The Reclaimed Chick Inn, our hand-crafted hen coop!
I bought this coop in Might of 2021 from a minimum safety jail. The prisoners constructed it out of outdated delivery bins. We hauled it house in a flatbed trailer.
Alongside the way in which, we stopped at a roadside thrift retailer and located 3 safari-print hen wall footage that I hung within the coop. I later bought a few zebra and leopard print shirts at Goodwill, reduce them up, and made them into curtains for the nesting packing containers.

Long gone with the Wind
In July of 2022, a horrible windstorm got here thru and rolled The Chick Inn totally over, demolishing it and devastating myself and the chickens. No lives, alternatively, have been misplaced within the wreckage!
My spouse’s father spent greater than 10 days in 100-degree climate piecing the coop again in combination and including extra/heavier reclaimed picket to it. It’s even higher than ahead of, and the chickens have been glad to be again house!
Our reclaimed coop recently homes 15 hens and 9 guineas. At the different facet is a 4-by-8-foot room that holds the feed and too can have compatibility an oval-shaped tank for a brooder. My coop has a tale to inform, and the eggs are tastier from The Chick Inn.
