In early April WildlifeKate (@katemacrae) offered us to a couple of Eurasian nuthatches (Sitta europaea) who had been reworking a nestbox she’d supplied at Gwyllt Hole in southern Wales.
The sitting room used to be stunning sooner than they yanked out the decorations, added dust to the partitions, and stuffed the room with dried leaves as much as the chair rail.
Having constructed the nest to their liking the feminine laid eggs that hatched closing Sunday 12 Might. (sure there’s a hen at the sound observe.)
This pair now has a big and hungry circle of relatives.
The chicks are rising rapid. As of this morning their eyes are nonetheless closed.
